Over three years after first being announced, the Michael Jackson biopic premiered in theaters on April 24. It starred the King of Pop's nephew Jaafar Jackson as the titular character, along with Colman Domingo as patriarch Joe Jackson, Nia Long as matriarch Katherine Jackson and Miles Teller as lawyer-manager John Branca.
According to BoxOfficeMojo, the film netted $97 million domestically and $217 million abroad in its first weekend, totaling $314 million worldwide, marking the best box office start of all time for a biopic. Following its success in theaters, many fans are already wondering when the film will moonwalk its way to streaming platforms.
So, when will Michael come to streaming? Here's everything we know so far about how to watch the biopic at home.
What is Michael about?

Michael chronicles the singer's life on and off stage, from his childhood as part of the famed Jackson 5 and spanning his early solo career.
"Highlighting both his life off-stage and some of the most iconic performances from his early solo career, the film gives audiences a front-row seat to Michael Jackson as never before," the film's synopsis reads.
An early logline for the film said that it would bring an "honest portrayal of the brilliant yet complicated" singer, whose final years before his death were met with controversy.

However, the film ends in 1988, leaving out any of the child sex abuse allegations made against him in the years to follow.
Which streaming platform will Michael be on?

Michael is distributed by Lionsgate, which has a multiyear licensing agreement with Amazon. The biopic is expected to stream first on Starz, before making its way to Prime Video.
However, before the biopic heads to streaming, it will make its debut on premium video-on-demand platforms like Prime Video, Apple TV and Fandango at Home, where fans can rent or purchase the movie, per Forbes.
When is Michael coming to streaming?

According to Forbes, studios often roll out digital releases about 45 to 65 days after the film's theater premiere. If Michael follows suit, then it can arrive for rent or purchase by mid-June 2026.
As for when it will be available on streaming, Lionsgate films — including Now You See Me: Now You Don't and The Long Walk — have taken between four and five months to debut on Starz. It will first run on Starz before being available for free to Prime Video users, though a date has not been announced, per the outlet.
In the meantime, there are other MJ-related films available on streaming. The 2009 film, Michael Jackson's This Is It — a documentary that gives a behind-the-scenes look at the singer preparing for a London concert residency before his 2009 death — is available to stream for free with ads on Fandango at Home, as well as to those with an AMC+, Apple TV, Philo and Sundance Now subscription.
