Cristiano Ronaldo has five children.
The athlete became a dad in 2010 with the birth of his first son, also named Cristiano. Ronaldo then welcomed twins Eva Maria and Mateo Ronaldo via surrogate in June 2017, followed five months later by his and his fiancée Georgina Rodríguez's daughter Alana Martina in November 2017.
Then, in October 2021, the pair announced they were expecting twins, a boy and a girl. Following their birth in April 2022, the soccer superstar shared on Instagram that their daughter Bella Esmeralda was born healthy, but their son Ángel had died.
Here's everything to know about Ronaldo's five children.

Born on June 17, 2010, in California, Cristiano Jr. is named after his soccer star dad.
Ronaldo has never disclosed the identity of his firstborn's mother, telling host Jonathan Ross of The Jonathan Ross Show in November 2015, "Some points in life are private, and people have to respect the privacy. When Cristiano is going to grow up, I am always going to say the truth to him because he deserves it, because he is my son. But I am not going to say [it just] because people want me to say."
His statements in 2015 echoed those that the soccer star made at the time of his son's birth.
Ronaldo posted on social media (via ABC News), "It is with great joy and emotion that I inform I have recently become father to a baby boy. As agreed with the baby's mother, who prefers to have her identity kept confidential, my son will be under my exclusive guardianship. I request everyone to fully respect my right to privacy (and that of the child) at least on issues as personal as these are."
Cristiano Jr. is taking after his father on the soccer field.
In May 2025, Ronaldo shared that Cristiano Jr. had been called up to Portugal's youth squad to play in a tournament in Croatia, writing on his Instagram Stories, "Proud of you, son!"
Cristiano Jr. plays for the youth team of Al-Nassr, the Saudi Pro League club Ronaldo plays for. In 2026, he briefly trained with Real Madrid's Under-16 team. The forward hopes to join an elite club in Europe, preferably in the United Kingdom or Madrid, per Sports Illustrated.
The outlet also shared that at "well over 6'," Cristiano Jr. is already taller than his father.

In June 2017, Ronaldo welcomed twins Eva and Mateo via surrogate. He shared the news of their arrival in a Facebook post captioned, "So happy to be able to hold the two new loves of my life 🙏❤."
Months before the twins' arrival, Ronaldo began dating Rodríguez. The pair made their first public appearance at the Best FIFA Football Awards in Zurich in January 2017.
Ronaldo and Rodríguez celebrated the twins' 6th birthday in June 2023 with a dual party that included a mermaid-themed cake for Eva and a soccer-themed cake for Mateo. Then, in 2025, the twins rang in their 8th birthday with some Disney magic, with Ronaldo sharing a photo of a Daisy Duck meet-and-greet with the duo on Instagram.
The twins have also been spotted in photos with their dad, including a family portrait posted on Instagram after Ronaldo's team Al-Nassr won the Saudi Pro League title in May 2026.
Alana Martina, 8

Weeks after the arrival of twins Eva and Mateo, Ronaldo announced that he and then-girlfriend Rodríguez were expecting.
The pair welcomed their first baby together — and Ronaldo's fourth child — on Nov. 12, 2017.
"Alana Martina has just been born! Geo and Alana are both doing great! We are all very happy! ❤️," Ronaldo captioned the birth announcement in Portuguese on Instagram, which featured the new mom holding her daughter as Ronaldo and Cristiano Jr. stood by her bedside.

Rodríguez later told ¡HOLA! magazine that both she and her partner chose their daughter's name, explaining in Spanish, "Cristiano chose Alana, and I chose Martina. We decided to give her both names that each of us chose. We thought it was even more special."
In November 2025, Ronaldo celebrated Alana turning 8 by sharing a photo on Instagram of his daughter on a white-and-pink bike alongside the caption, in Portuguese, "Happy birthday my love daddy loves you so much! 💖."
Bella Esmeralda, 4

Ronaldo and Rodríguez welcomed their younger daughter, Bella, on April 18, 2022, waiting three weeks to reveal her name and birthdate.
While announcing Bella's birth, the couple simultaneously shared that her twin brother had died.
"It is with our deepest sadness we have to announce that our baby boy has passed away. It is the greatest pain that any parents can feel," the pair wrote. "Only the birth of our baby girl gives us the strength to live this moment with some hope and happiness."
In February 2023, Rodríguez posted a photo of her youngest sitting on Ronaldo's lap.
"That look, so strong and delicate, that God has given you. Love them," the mom captioned the snap, to which Ronaldo responded in the comments, "Just like dad. My love 🥰."
For her 4th birthday in April 2026, Bella celebrated with a KPop Demon Hunters-themed party. A photo shared by Ronaldo showed her posing in front of a display of balloons and glittering decorations with characters from the Oscar-winning 2025 animated musical plastered on a poster in the background.
"Happy birthday my princess! 🎂❤️🤍," Ronaldo wrote on Instagram in Portuguese. "Four years full of joy. Daddy loves you so much!"
Bella and her older sister, Alana, were also a big reason that Ronaldo proposed to Rodríguez when he did.
"I knew I would do it one day," the soccer star told British journalist Piers Morgan in November 2025. "But it was the moment that my daughters [came when I said], 'Yes, now is the time. This is what I want.' "
Baby Ángel

In October 2021, Ronaldo announced he and Rodríguez were expecting twins. The former Manchester United soccer player shared the news alongside a photo of himself lying in bed with Rodríguez. (The couple held up ultrasound photos.)
Their baby girl, Bella, was born healthy in April 2022, but Ronaldo shared the news on Instagram that her twin, a baby boy, had died. In his announcement, the athlete thanked their doctors and nurses for "all their expert care and support."
"We are all devastated at this loss and we kindly ask for privacy at this very difficult time. Our baby boy, you are our angel. We will always love you," he concluded the post, signed by him and Rodríguez.
In November 2022, Ronaldo opened up about the moment he told his older children that Bella's twin brother had died.
"Gio arrived home, and the kids start to say, 'Where's the other baby, where's the other baby?' " Ronaldo told Morgan in their 2025 TalkTV interview. "After one week, I say, 'Let's be upfront, and let's be honest with the kids, let's say that, Ángel, which is his name, he [went] to heaven.' "
He shared that the family talks about Ángel every day.
"The kids understand, we had shouts around the table, and they say, 'Daddy, I did this for Ángel,' and they point to the sky, which I like the most because he's part of their lives," Ronaldo said. "I am not gonna lie to my kids, I say the truth, which was a difficult process."
