Ving Rhames collapsed at a Los Angeles restaurant where he was dining with his family Wednesday.
The Los Angeles Fire Department confirmed to Entertainment Weekly that it responded to a 66-year-old man's medical emergency about 1:40 p.m.
The Mission: Impossible star's rep told EW that he made 'a humorous remark' afterward.
Ving Rhames is recovering after collapsing at a Los Angeles restaurant where he was dining with his family, a rep for the actor has confirmed.
"I spoke to Mr. Rhames via phone shorty after and since then and he sounded like everyday Ving," the rep told Entertainment Weekly. "He made a humorous remark."
A spokesman for the Los Angeles Fire Department told EW that paramedics responded to the call of "a 66-year-old male for an unconfirmed medical condition." They "assessed, treated, and transported" him for medical care.

TMZ was the first to report the news. In a statement to the outlet, a rep for the actor said that it was thought the star became "overheated," and that he was being observed at the hospital.
Rhames, who is 66, is best known for playing the role of Luther in the Mission: Impossible franchise, alongside Tom Cruise, and for his work in movies such as Pulp Fiction, Dawn of the Dead, and Piranha 3D.
