Reacher returns for season 4 with another dangerous case.
The Prime Video action series originally premiered in February 2022 and season 1 was based on Lee Child’s first thriller novel, Killing Floor. Like in the book, the episodes centered around Reacher (Alan Ritchson) getting accused of a crime he didn’t commit, leading him to uncover a conspiracy.
Season 2 was inspired by Child’s 11th novel in the Jack Reacher series, Bad Luck and Trouble, while season 3 drew its storyline from the author’s seventh book, Persuader. Now, the fourth installment is based on the 13th book, titled Gone Tomorrow.
In season 4, Reacher encounters a distraught stranger on the subway. When the interaction goes wrong, the former army police officer is launched into “a complex and deadly game that pits him against ruthless foes from the highest echelons of power,” per a press release.

When does Reacher season 4 premiere?

The fourth season of Reacher premiered on Aug. 12.
“This is, without a doubt the most gripping season yet. I think we hit our stride. Firing on all cylinders … as it were,” Ritchson wrote on Instagram in March 2026.
Ritchson returned alongside new cast members, including Sydelle Noel, Chris Marquette, AGNEZ MO, Anggun, Kevin Weisman, Marc Blucas, Kevin Corrigan and Kathleen Robertson.
Season 4 succeeds Reacher’s last case that involved going undercover for the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA). In the season 3 finale, he avenged the death of his former colleague, Dominique Kohl (Mariah Robinson), by killing arms dealer Xavier Quinn (Brian Tee).

How many episodes are in Reacher season 4?
Reacher season 4 will have eight episodes.
“From Lee Child’s globally beloved novels to its standout on-screen adaptation, Reacher has evolved into a true powerhouse franchise,” said Peter Friedlander, head of global television at Amazon MGM Studios, per a press release announcing the show’s renewal for season 5 in May 2026.
He continued, “The series’ ability to combine high-octane action with compelling character storytelling continues to resonate with tens of millions of viewers around the world.”
