- Meghan McCain has lashed out at her *View* replacement, Alyssa Farah Griffin.

- McCain called her a "joke" and "wildly disappointing" to watch in her seat.

- "She is in no way representative of conservative women," McCain said of the former Donald Trump White House staffer.

Former *The View* cohost and daughter of the late Sen. John McCain, Meghan McCain, has lashed out at the conservative panelist who replaced her at the Hot Topics table following her 2021 departure.

In a new episode of her *Citizen McCain* talk show, McCain welcomed conservative influencer Isabel Brown to discuss the latter's recent feud with *The View* cohosts, stemming from the panelists' criticizing the social media personality's stance on marriage and childbirth.

After Brown criticized the show and repeated a previously expressed claim that the show wouldn't book her for an interview after the cohosts publicly slammed her on the air, McCain speculated amid a larger conversation that "the idea that a woman could be pro-life is beyond anyone at that show’s comprehension."

“The other thing is, when I left *The View*, the executive producer said, 'I want you to help me help pick your [successor],'" McCain added, before voicing a series of factually incorrect statements abut the show's performance at the Emmys: "The show has only won an Emmy twice in its history — one time is when I was there, for Best Political Show." (*The View* has won more than 30 Daytime Emmys, and there is no "Best Political Show" category.)

McCain continued, claiming that she suggested "a list of women I thought would be great," including Christian speaker Allie Beth Stuckey. "You need someone who's a real one," McCain observed, adding that she didn't want the show to hire "fake people who once voted for President Bush in the early 2000s and now hate everything Republicans" have become.

“I’m gonna say something that’s a little nasty," McCain continued, speaking about Griffin, who used to work under Donald Trump's administration as a communications staffer before resigning and speaking out against him. "The person they replaced me with is a joke. She is in no way representative of conservative women. It’s been a wildly disappointing experience for me to see what legacy I helped do during the four years there while my dad battled brain cancer and I had not one, but two miscarriages while I worked there."

Later in the episode, McCain appeared to forget Griffin's name, referring to her as "whatever" before criticizing her for openly admitting on the air that she voted for Kamala Harris in the 2024 election.

"How is that representing conservatives?" McCain asked, going on to praise staunch conservative Elisabeth Hasselbeck for her performance on *The View** *both as a permanent cohost from 2003-2013, and again as a returning cohost in Griffin's absence on maternity leave earlier this year.

“She was great, and she was really strong and she fought for a lot of the things that I fight for," McCain said.

** has reached out to a representative for Griffin at* The View* for comment.

McCain has long criticized her former workplace, which she's labeled as a toxic environment populated by "crazy old people" who bully her, according to the commentator.

"I’ve always got along with [O'Donnell]. She was actually the first person that warned me *The View* is a cesspool," McCain also claimed on a 2025 podcast appearance.

Before that, she compared her 2021 exit from the show to a "bomb going off" in the building.

"When I left *The View* — and I quit, it was very dramatic — it was like a bomb going off, when I was going into the studio to announce that I was leaving," she said in 2023. "My entire body was trembling. I couldn't get my body to stop because I was having a physical reaction. I didn't know how people would respond. I didn't know if I was doing the right thing, and then even my agent at the time was like, 'If you're going to pull this rip cord, you need to make sure you're pulling this rip cord, and you're ready to do whatever.'"
