Mark Consuelos explained why hosting Live with Kelly and Mark has “gotten in the way” of certain aspects of his and Kelly Ripa’s sex life

The morning talk show hosts have been married since 1996 and share three kids

In July 2025, Ripa claimed that her husband of 29 years wanted to have sex “only in the morning”

Mark Consuelos and Kelly Ripa are answering questions about their sex life.

Eight months after the morning talk show hosts revealed that they don’t always see eye to eye when it comes to morning sex, Scrubs actress Christa Miller insisted that they revisit the topic during her Tuesday, March 3 appearance on Live with Kelly and Mark.

"I have something to say,” the Shrinking star, 61, said as she sat down across from the couple. “I watch this show, I'm a fan. And, Mark, I'm going to say this with love. There's no morning sex. No one likes it. And not even on the weekends."

In response, Consuelos, 54, said that his preference for morning sex has been hindered by his and Ripa’s unconventional work schedules.

"I've got to tell you, this job has really gotten in the way of that,” he admitted. “It's been the antidote for it."

Even so, Miller went on to say that women “don’t fall for the, 'I just want to cuddle you' in the morning," before admitting that she’s been “having the same problem” with her husband Bill Lawrence.

"My window is in the afternoon, it's a short window,” she explained. “And also, Bill has to be home and also not bugging me. There are a lot of steps. A lot of hurdles."

To put an end to the “morning sex” debate once and for all, Ripa, 55, looked directly into the camera and declared, “Bill, for the love of God, on behalf of all of us here in the studio audience, there is absolutely no morning sex."

As for where the debate first started? During a July 2025 episode of the Not Skinny But Not Fat podcast, Ripa claimed that her husband of 29 years wanted to have sex “only in the morning.”

“I said to him, ‘Here’s the thing,' ” she explained at the time. “ ‘There needs to be a yin and a yang here. It can’t always be your way. ‘Cause it feels like 90 percent of the time it’s your way. And now that we work together every day, it’s gonna have to sometimes be my way, and my way’s at night only.' ”

After all, Ripa found them to be “the most repulsive, disgusting [people]” in the morning after she finishes ripping out her retainer and he peels off his nasal strips.

“I’m already pre-disgusted for tomorrow morning,” she added with a laugh. “The greatest thing about this job, this thing has like, almost repulsed him from morning time during the work week, which is like a miracle.”

“May this show last until he suffers from erectile dysfunction,” she concluded. “He’s in his mid-50s now. Shouldn’t that be happening now? I was promised!”
