Lucy (Grace Van Patten) doesn't have the best history with men. That's putting it nicely. But at the end of the last Tell Me Lies episode, she at least seemed to find someone other than Stephen (Jackson White) to ... occupy her time. And after everything Stephen's put her through — including forcing her to record that taped confessional — she needs every opportunity to relieve some stress.

And it seems there might be more to her time with Alex (Costa D'Angelo).

Entertainment Weekly has an exclusive sneak peek at episode 4 of the Hulu drama's third season, which sees Lucy meeting up with Alex for a drink. But before you call it a date, Alex is here to triple confirm that the two of them are "just hanging out."

Lucy tells him, "I think the third full sentence you said to me was 'I don't do relationships.'" So she gets it. It's casual.

But outside of keeping things lowkey, what exactly are these two doing? Lucy admits she was surprised that he called because she "wasn't really myself" the last time they hung out. But Alex assures her, "I don't judge, okay? I've had people ask me to do far weirder shit before."

It's unclear where this will go, but for Lucy at least, it seems to be an outlet as she continues to struggle with some of her past decisions — including lying about sexual assault. As she tells Alex over drinks, "I think I might actually be one, like genuinely a horrible person."

It wouldn't be Tell Me Lies if someone wasn't questioning their moral compass. (To be clear though, it's never Stephen. He's just evil.)

New episodes of Tell Me Lies drop Tuesdays at 3 a.m. ET/12 a.m. PT on Hulu.
