Kristen Bell’s hit Netflix series may be titled Nobody Wants This, but everybody was eagerly anticipating the star’s appearance on the red carpet at tonight’s Actor Awards. (For those feeling a bit of confusion, the Actor Awards are the newly-renamed SAG Awards.) Naturally, Bell didn’t disappoint, strutting the evening’s photocall in a slinky transparent gown embellished with sparkling silver starbursts by Georges Hobeika Couture. In addition to a deep V neckline, the gown also boasted a silver sash, which formed a swooping pleated skirt in the back, adding glamorous volume. Bell competed the look with a diamond necklace and earrings in an oblong motif.

The star is returning for her third stint as the ceremony’s host tonight, having previously emceed the awards in 2018 (when she became the traditionally host-less ceremony’s first-ever emcee) and in 2025.
“There's not really an award show, in my opinion, that has a warmer room, a bigger sense of camaraderie,” she told People. “To have the opportunity to entertain in front of all these people I admire and my friends and my fellow entertainers, it's wonderful.”

As for her hosting strategy, despite the success of recent Golden Globes host Nikki Glaser, Bell doesn’t anticipate offering up any roasts of attendees. “I don’t roast. It’s not in me,” she told Deadline. “If I’m going to roast anyone, it’s going to be me. That’s what’s funniest to me. So it will be light and goofy and hopefully still make you laugh. But I want everyone to feel welcome.”
The Actor Awards (officially, The Actor Awards presented by SAG-AFTRA) made a naming swap late last year, when Jon Brockett, showrunner of the awards telecast, and JoBeth Williams, chair of SAG-AFTRA’s Awards Committee, announced the change, clarifying, “After the merger between [industry guilds] SAG and AFTRA, we continued to refer to the show as the SAG Awards. Now, with the new name of the show — The Actor Awards presented by SAG-AFTRA — we’re finally able to fully recognize that merger and align it with the name of our statuette, The Actor.”
