On Friday, Kate Middleton marked her 44th birthday by sharing the final installment of her Mother Nature video series on Instagram.
The clip shows the Princess of Wales enjoying natural scenery as she talks about gratitude, healing, and stillness.
The birthday message arrived a day after Kate and William visited Londonās Charing Cross Hospital as their first joint engagement of the year.
Kate Middleton marked her 44th birthday with a reflective Instagram video on Friday. The nature-themed clip features the Princess of Wales walking through a winter landscape as she talks about stillness, gratitude, and renewal in a voiceover. Titled āWinter,ā the video serves as the fourth and final installment of her quarterly Mother Nature series, which she launched last year.
āEven in the coldest, darkest season, winter has a way of bringing us stillness, patience, and quiet considerationāwhere the stream slows just enough for us to see our own reflection, to discover the deepest parts of ourselves alongside the whispers and the pulse of every living thing,ā Kate said in the video. She continued, āI find myself reflecting on how deeply grateful I am. For the rivers within us flow with ease. Fears washed away. Cleanse and purify. Come to peace with our tears and discover what it means to be alive, to be at one with nature, a quiet teacher and a soft voice that guides in memory, helping us to heal.ā
Kate shared more about the series and its impact on her in the caption. āThe Mother Nature series has been a deeply personal, creative reflection on how nature has helped me heal. But it is also a story about the power of nature and creativity in collective healing,ā she wrote. āThere is so much we can learn from mother nature, as we look to build a happier, healthier world. The birthday post arrives nearly a year after Kate announced she was in remission following cancer treatment. She first shared her diagnosis in March 2024 and stepped back from public duties while undergoing chemotherapy, which she completed later that year.
In January 2025, she confirmed her remission in a post on X, writing, āIt is a relief to now be in remission and I remain focused on recovery. As anyone who has experienced a cancer diagnosis will know, it takes time to adjust to a new normal.ā
I wanted to take the opportunity to say thank you to The Royal Marsden for looking after me so well during the past year. My heartfelt thanks goes to all those who have quietly walked alongside William and me as we have navigated everything. We couldnāt have asked for more.⦠pic.twitter.com/f3sA7yZdOi

Since then, Kate has gradually resumed royal engagements, while continuing to reference nature as a source of comfort. The Mother Nature series debuted during Mental Health Awareness Week in May 2025, with subsequent films released in summer and autumn.
According to People, the āWinterā video was filmed during early morning walks in Berkshire, where Kate lives with Prince William and their three children, with footage captured by filmmaker Will Warr in London and the Cotswolds.
Kateās latest Instagram comes a day after she and William marked their first joint engagement of the year. On Thursday, the couple surprised staff and volunteers at Charing Cross Hospital in west London, where they are joint patrons of NHS Charities Together.

During the visit, Kate spoke with a volunteer who explained that patients and visitors often spend āhoursā receiving chemotherapy. Kate replied, āI know,ā before touching Williamās arm and adding, āWe know,ā according to Hello! magazine. The royal pair also spent time meeting staff on their tea break, touring the hospitalās rehabilitation unit, and participating in a roundtable with NHS charity leaders to discuss the impact of philanthropy on patient care and staff wellbeing.

Reflecting on the visit, William highlighted the significance of their experiences, saying, āBoth of us had different experiences with hospitals, me working with the air ambulance and Catherine with her recent health journey, and coming here today reminds ourselves just how important all the teams are, all the staff, the patient sort of interactions. Itās so heartwarming, and itās so important that we kind of acknowledge and appreciate all that goes on in the NHS, and that very strong bond between patient and carer.ā
Elsewhere during their appearance, Kate added, āThereās amazing work going on here. Weāve just seen some of it todayā¦It makes a big difference to patients and families that come through these doors.ā
