Jack Hughes said he doesn't want his broken teeth from the Olympics to become his "thing"
The hockey star told Jimmy Fallon that he plans to get them fixed
Jack revealed the conversation he and Quinn had moments after his teeth were knocked out during their gold medal victory
U.S. hockey star Jack Hughes doesn't want to become the guy with the broken teeth.
During an appearance on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon alongside his brother Quinn and women's team captain Hilary Knight on Monday, March 2, Jack, 24, said he doesn't want the broken teeth — which a Canadian player knocked out just before Jack scored the gold medal-winning goal at the Winter Olympics — to become "his thing," and vowed to have them fixed at some point.
When host Jimmy Fallon asked, "I think this might be your thing. Are you used to having the hole in your mouth?," Jack smiled and said, "I can promise you this won't be my thing."

Jack said the "biggest issue" he's had since the injury has been that he doesn't "want to spend time in the dentist chair, obviously," as he and the team continue their celebrations and media circuit post-gold medal.
The hockey star shared what happened the moments after his mouth was bloodied during the game. "I remember Quinn, he was the first guy closest to me and I remember he came up to me at the TV time-out and he was like, 'It's not that bad, like, it's only chipped,' " Jack recalled, as both brothers laughed.

Jack also revealed that he's been asked to show off his iconic teeth when taking photos with fans since the gold medal win.
"It's funny cause since we’ve been back in the U.S., we feel the love like crazy, like, so much support, but, when people are coming up for a picture, they're like, 'Smile!,' " he said.
Fallon laughed and joked, "You gotta show the tooth!"
After winning gold over Canada in Milan, Jack told reporters, including PEOPLE, that he would go to the "great dentists" back home in the U.S.

“I’m lucky I’m from the best country in the world, and we’ve got great dentists there too," he said. "So I’m lucky I’m American and they’re going to fix me right up."
