Golden Globes host Nikki Glaser didn't let the fact that she was on CBS' turf sway her from taking aim at the network's controversial news division under the leadership of polarizing media figure Bari Weiss.

Around three minutes into her 2026 Golden Globes monologue as the show's returning host, the comedian segued a joke about redacted information in the Jeffrey Epstein files into a criticism of the very network that broadcasted the moment.

"And the Golden Globes for Best Editing goes to: the Justice Department. Yes, congratulations!" Glaser said, with the audience laughing at the jab. "And the award for *Most* Editing goes to: CBS News!"

She continued, "Yes, CBS News: America's newest place to see... BS news!"

The audience erupted with laughter after the joke, with applause and cheering sounding from the crowd. The camera also cut to a shot of Martin Short clapping while seated next to his fellow *Only Murders in the Building* actor Steve Martin, who also laughed at the quip.

Glaser's joke came amid a rocky week for CBS News, which debuted its latest *CBS Evening News *edition* *fronted by *CBS Mornings *star Tony Dokoupil.

Dokoupil's first live show — which came days after he shared a public plea for viewers to hold him to higher standards of journalism that accompanied the job — received negative reactions online, and unfolded with a technical hiccup that led new anchor to call out "big problems" on the air.

The 45-year-old's work at the *CBS Evening News* desk was even criticized by fellow TV personality Megyn Kelly, who relentlessly mocked Dokoupil for crying during a CBS News Miami clip that saw him being interviewed by a local broadcaster and subsequently crying over memories of his childhood.

"There's no crying in evening news," Kelly said, going on to deride him for failing to keep his emotions at bay on camera, later asking, "The sobbing? The repeated voice quivering? The inability to recover? What is that?"

In addition to his work at the anchor desk, viewers also took issue with Dokoupil's coverage of the deadly ICE shooting of a woman in Minnesota.
