A new fashion novel is already being billed as the next—and possibly better—successor to The Devil Wears Prada.
Filipa Fino, a former editor at Vogue, is preparing to release a tell-all–style novel that promises to dig even deeper into the inner workings of Condé Nast and the fashion world. Titled Best Dressed, the book is set to publish in May 2026 and is already generating buzz for what sources say is a far more insider-driven account than previous fashion exposés.
Unlike the novel The Devil Wears Prada, which was written by Lauren Weisberger after her brief stint as an assistant, Fino spent more than a decade inside the industry. Her résumé includes time at Allure, Harper’s Bazaar, and 11 years at Vogue itself—so fans are speculating that this account will be even juicer than Weisberger’s.

Given Fino’s proximity to former Vogue Global Editorial Director Anna Wintour—and her recently shared photos with the legendary editor—readers are already speculating about a Miranda Priestly–style character. While real names have been changed, of course, sources who spoke with Page Six say designers and models are portrayed through real events, including a controversial 1998 trip involving Naomi Campbell, Kate Moss, and Cuban leader Fidel Castro, which allegedly included a racially charged remark tied to production costs.

Wintour herself has also weighed in on The Devil Wears Prada movie—which has a sequel also expected to be coming out in May—offering her perspective on the film while speaking on The New Yorker Radio in September 2025. The 76-year-old recalled attending the film’s premiere without knowing what to expect. “First of all, it wasMeryl Streep, which, fantastic,” she said. “And then I went to see the film, and I found it highly enjoyable. It was very funny.” She later added, “In the end, it had a lot of humor to it, it had a lot of wit…And in the end, I thought it was a fair shot.”
So if Best Dressed lives up to its promise, the fashion world may soon have a new definitive insider story—this time from someone who was much closer to the power center.
