Doja Cat appeared to have never heard of Ella Langley
The rapper appeared on the Sunday, Aug. 23 episode of Sundae Conversation where she was asked if she was an “Ella’s fella”
Langley’s hit “Choosin’ Texas” has remained at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 for 19 weeks
Doja Cat appears to appears not to have heard of Ella Langley.
On Sunday, Aug. 23, the rapper appeared on the latest episode of Sundae Conversation where host Caleb Pressley followed up a Darth Vader versus elevator joke, which Doja, 30, fell for with a pivot to the country hitmaker.
“Did you think I was talkin about Ella Langley?” he asked the musician (real name Amala Ratna Zandile Dlamini). “Are you an Ella’s Fella?”
Doja couldn’t hide her confusion. “I don’t know what that is,” she replied.

Pressley, 33, was surprised that the “Say So” artist wasn’t aware of Langley, 27, whose hit “Choosin’ Texas” has been No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 for 19 weeks. But he also thought Doja might be trolling him.
“Do you like Ella Langley?” Pressley asked once more, and she again said she didn’t.
“I don’t what that is. Ella Langley? Ella Langley,” said Doja.

PEOPLE has reached out to reps for Langley for comment.
Per Billboard, “Choosin’ Texas” has spent 19 weeks atop Billboard’s Hot 100, tying the longest non-holiday tenure alongside Lil Nas X and Billy Ray Cyrus’ “Old Town Road” and Shaboozey’s “A Bar Song.”
In June, Langley spoke with PEOPLE about the success of her sophomore album Dandelion and finding fame.
“It’s just finding my footing in this new life that I have where so many people care about what I’m doing,” she said at the time. “This is the goal, the whole time, for people to be listening to the music. But now they’re also paying attention to the human version of me, which is interesting.”
She added that she wanted people to see that the album is “authentic.”
“There wasn’t any mistakes on this record. There wasn’t any song that wasn’t meant to be on there. Everything tells a story,” said Langley.
Meanwhile, Doja is set to kick off the North American leg of her Tour Ma Vie World Tour in Detroit on Oct. 1.
